The Cheyne Gang
We are The Cheyne Gang, a choir set up by practice nurses for people with breathing difficulties such as COPD. We are taking part in #mylastsong which is in support of Hospice Care Week 2015 and to prepare for the release of the documentary film Seven Songs for a Long Life which was filmed in Strathcarron Hospice over the course of three years. The filmmaker Amy Hardie found a powerful method of communication with the patients through their desire to sing. #mylastsong is like the ice bucket challenge which many took part in on FB and Twitter but this time people are encouraged to upload a video of them singing a song close to their heart. Our song is 'Bye Bye Blackbird' as it was the first we learned together 2 years ago and we still love singing it together.
Sing and Share
Contribute to #MyLastSong and raise awareness of the work of hospices. It's easy: just sing a song!
